OL2000 Inbox message status icons error

Anyone heard of (and know how to fix) a problem where upon starting
OL2000 all items in the Inbox have an "unread" icon, despite the unread
count in bottom left corner being correct, and the bold/unbold of the
message subject for being unread/read being correct?
