OL2002 CPU maxes, looks like memory leak?

OL2002 SP2, XP Pro SP1
For the first few minutes, Outlook seems to run normally
(quickly), but after deleting, replying, putting emails
into folders, the CPU pegs for 20 seconds or so and then
response returns and then does it again until I cancel
the Outlook task. How can I figure out what's eating
outlook?
