Ol2003 and Lotus Notes

If I send an HTML based e-mail to a Lotus Notes user the response that I get
contains my original words but not their response. If I switch to plain text
the
problem goes away.

Sounds like you've found the solution yourself.

I want to fly, too, but flapping my arms doesn't do the job. I'm more
practical. If plain text gets the job done (HTML rarely enhances a message
anyway, since it doesn't transmit information, only glitz and glitter),
that's what I use. If my hammer won't drive a screw, I use a tool that
does.

What message value does HTML add that doesn't exist with plain text?

Lotus Notes is not very good at interacting it's mail format with rest
of world. There are things sender can do, but it's not usual for them
to do so.

That being said, HTML emails are not necessary. Not only is it
unnecessary glitter and glitz (as others have said), but by making your
reader view HTML mail for your mail (and all others), it opens up their
computer for significant security and privacy risks. I think it's
arrogant for HTML email senders to impose that on people.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
