Old Database

Ok,

My boss' database got to the 4gig limit. It locked Entourage up. I did a
rebuild on the database and it moved most of the old info to a "Old
Database" and started out fresh with a new one.

How am I able to open up that old database to get contacts, emails, and
stuff out of the calendar?

Please help!

I would open the Database Utility, compact the old database, and then use
the compacted version. The Database Utility lives in the Microsoft Office
2004/Office folder, or can be launched by holding down the Option key when
booting Entourage. You can use the Switch Identities menu item from the
Entourage. At that point, you should be able to export your data.

Well, if Nick is describing things accurately and there really is a 4 GB
limit, then he must be using Entourage X, not 2004, and there's no "Database
Utility" in X, so that won't help. On the other hand, he may be making some
assumptions that are not correct.

Before we go any further here, I think Nick better tell us what version of
Entourage he's using, exactly - check "About Entourage" in the Entourage
menu, or the Finder.
