Ok maybe this question has been asked a thousand times...

I have moved from a big company with system admin to a new business owner
and have spent the last 3 weeks trying to change my Email account in Outlook
to show my Company name as my display name....

So far have tried....

1: Delete all accounts - Exit Outlook - start > settings > Mail - create new
account - restart - open Outlook - select new account as defalt send an
Email to myself and.... same problem....

2: Start > run > REGEDIT - search "my name" and it isnt in the registry in
either BINARY or TEXT so then.....delete all Identity keys shutdown -
restart - open outlook to regenerate new identities,,, wrong ID still there

3: reinstall Office 2000....

4: reinstall Windows

5: delete all accounts in Regedit

6: Throw computer out of the window.... this comes very soon!!!

Please Please Please help... this looks so un-professional on Emails to
customers and I would like to resolve this ASAP....

You forgot to clarify where you want this name changed.
Also state which mode of Outlook and what type of email account you are
using.

Hi Russ and thanks for taking the time to read my post....
I am using outlook 2000 with a POP3 account, the problem is that when I send
a mail the recipient recieves the mail and "from" shows "Richie Jones" and
not "Sales@*******.de"

I am sure this is a common problem and easy to resolve, but a search of the
registry for my personal name brings up no results either in text or Binary..
.. deleting the account and reinstating it also doesnt work.. I guess this
could be assosiated with the SMTP address as it remains the same and
therefore will link my name to this SMTP but finding a solution to this is a
nightmare....

Hope you can help...

Regards

Richie

Again, I can't answer your question without knowing which mail support mode
you are using.
If Corp/Workgroup, try changing the Email Display As field for your email
address in your Contact Record.
If Internet Mail Only, you can't control this.

Also set the name you specified for your Email Account Setting.
