A
Access rookie
Hallo,
I'm trying to do something interesting here, but I feel it will involve a
lot of code...
I have a OLE field in a table that I would like to autoset to a particular
file location. The problem is that I would like the user to choose the file.
Let me explain:
I have a query that asks for the name of the file: namely, 1,2,3 or 4. When
the user chooses, it brings up a miniform with the details of files 1,2,3,and
4 and the space where the OLE file is supposed to be. At present, it appears
as an icon and then the user has to click on it to access files 1,2,3,or 4
(dependent on their previous choice)
The problem is, these files are on a server, eg \\PHSRV01\Files\ and that it
also takes forever.
Is there a way to allow the query to ask" File 1,2,3 or 4?" and then once
the user enters the number, it automatically takes them to the
\\PHSRV01\files\1.xls?
I'm using Access 97, so I don't have the technical wizardry of later
versions...not that I would be able to use it anyway!
Thanks in advance,
Access Rookie.
