OLE, Update the item automatically?

Howdy,

I have a PPT file that one slide has a link to a Word Document. We want to
have the Slideshow running pretty much 24x7 non-stop. However the DOC file
gets updated throughout the day.

Is there any way to set Powerpoint to pull in the DOC conents every time
that particular slide is displayed? Or even set a timer so that every 10
minutes it checks for an update or something like that? It's not going to
work for us otherwise.

Or is there any other way to accopmlish this of having an editable file on
the network and having Powerpoint refresh the contents of that file as it
goes through the day?

Sounds like you need something like DataPoint of
www.PresentationPoint.com.
With DataPoint you can link your PPT file directly to databases, Excel
sheets and text files. Sorry, no Word documents... for online
refreshing during the slide show.
