omit slide number on one slide

I want to add a slide with no number to a powerpoint presentation. I want to
omit the number because otherwise people will be confused - we are having a
teleconference and some people have already made their comments on the
previously numbered deck.

Select the slide, click View > Header and Footer.
Uncheck Slide Number, click Apply.
Take note though, that the slide number on each slide will still remain the
same.
