I see that this problem is a regular issue for many users. And a
search yields several threads on this topic. I looked at those but
could still not seem to resolve the problem. In a nutshell, some email
that I try to send with Entourage 2004 yields an error message "sorry,
that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)". Under
"Explanation" it says, "Mail could not be sent" and then my account
name. At the bottom of the box, there is an error number "-17099".

Can someone please explain why this problem occurs and what can be
done to eliminate it? I just want emails to go to the people I send
them to. It is frustrating that some go and some don't (and get this
error message). Please HELP!!!

I have spent over four hours (on and off ALL DAY - over 12 hours)
troubleshooting Microsoft Entourage Error 5553 Sorry, that domain isn't
in my list of allowed rcpthosts.

I am using Mac OS X and Microsoft Entourage, and my domain is hosted at
Go Daddy Software. This is a rough explanation, based on info I've
gathered from the Go Daddy Technicians and personal experimentation.
When used in combination with an ISP, sending mail using Go Daddy's
SMTP account does not work with the default settings because the ISP is
"blocking the mail". To get around this, I was required to:

1. change the Account ID to be the full email address, not just the
user ID. (Even though the user ID allows email to be received with this
setting, it is not allowed to be sent.)
2. Sending Mail: use the Go Daddy smtp server
(smtpout.secureserver.net) and
3. Click here for advanced sending options and check the second two
boxes:

A. Override default SMTP port: (change to one the ISP gives to you).
B. SMTP server requires authentication
Choose Use same settings as receiving mail server OR
Log on using Account ID/Password.

A SEPARATE Account ID and Password are set at the ISP - in my case I
choose to use the same settings as the receiving mail server.
Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Regarding my above posting: The account ID and password, along with the
SMTP Relaying were changes that had to be made at the ISP. From what I
can tell, the problem is not related to Microsoft Entourage. My ISP is
Go Daddy Software, so I had to activate SMTP Relaying for Outgoing Mail
in tandem with making the changes in the "advanced sending mail"
section of Entourage (located under the Tools Menu, under Accounts).
