One more Question and a Thanks to Jim Buyens

On January 1, I asked a question and before getting an
answer bought a book on FrontPage. I Read the book put
it to use and created the data bases and Queries and
everything works perfectly. I just went to check my
question of the January 1, and see that the gentleman who
answered it, Jim Buyens, wrote the book that I just
bought-- What a coincidence-- and great book "FrontPage
2003 Inside Out". I know this sounds like an ad-- but
the coincidence was just uncanny!

Now to my question. Everything works great, but I
created the data base with a password protected login,
(for editing purposes), not realizing that my visitors
would have to login just to input their own information
into a searchable data base (for realtors)...

I can't figure out how to remove the requirment of a
login or will I just have to start the whole data base
from scratch and elmiminate the login requirment?

Thanks for any help

Bruce, depending on how you set up your site, if the login is required to
just get past the first page then remove it and link directly to the page
you want them to see. If that page is looking for some kind of
authentication information from the login them you may need to redo your
pages. Can you post more details (step by step what happens) so we can
assist you better?

This depends entirely on how you set up the password
protection.

If you set it up by using a protected subweb, you would
have to remove the password protection from the subweb.

If you used the Database Interface Wizard, you could set
up HTML forms that don't require a password to add new
records, even though your Database Interfaces still do.
You can also set up Database Results Wizards that display
information without requiring a password.

At some point, however, you may find that security at the
Web, database, or page level is still too coarse.
Security at the visitor level, such as visitors being
able to update only their own information, generally
requires custom programming.
