I have an invoice form which totals up costs and adds VAT
One invoice has an item at £29.00 which means the VAT(17.5%) is £5.075
Giving a total of £34.075. Using the Currency format to 2 decimal
places the total should be £34.08
I have another field which I would like to add to the Grand Total,
sometimes this field is empty so it can be left blank.
I use an iif to calculate the grand total:
=IIf(IsNull([Forms]![Invoice].[Form].[ExemptFromTax]),[Sub_Total]+[TotalVAT],[Sub_Total]+[TotalVAT]+[Forms]![Invoice].[Form].[ExemptFromTax])
The problem now is that if I leave that field blank the value of the
grand total is displayed as £34.075 to 3 decimal places and £34.07 if
i change it to 2 decimal places.
If i enter £0.00 as the ExemptFromTax field the grand total is
displayed as £34.075 to 3 decimal places and £34.08 if i change it to
2 decimal places.
Why does it calculate it as £34.07 if I leave the field blank???
TIA
Doug
PS I know I could force the ExemptFromTax field to Zero all the time
but I dont really want to do this
