Only full hours?

Stefan

When I want to add a new item to the calendar, I can't fill in minutes,
just full hours. The minutes field is just blank. Is this a known bug,
and more important, is there a known solution?

Latest update of Entourage, latest update of Panther. The bug has first
appeared two weeks ago.

Thanks for any hint.

First try removing Entourage Preferences from
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft folder and com.microsoft.Entourage.plist
from that Preferences folder.

If no good, remove whole Microsoft folder.

If no good, use Remove Office (from Value Pack) and reinstall Office X and
all the updates.

I'm pretty sure this is a settings corruption, not a database corruption,
but if none of that works then do an Advanced Rebuild of the database
(Option key down at launch).

First try ...
(suggests the usual, from deleting the prefs to re-installing the whole
office)

Ok, today I had some time and tried everything. Problem not solved. It
seems that that the problem is not of the kind of corrupted prefs etc.,
but is somewhere buried in Entourage itself.

Personally, I've not used the calendar feature of Entourage myself, but
today I tried it on three different Macs. Result: The very same problem
exists on all three Macs! An iMac, a PowerBook G4/400 and a G4/350. All
three with system Mac OS 10.3.2 Swiss German. On one of them (the
PowerBook), I had the OS and then Office freshly installed, nothing
tweaked, no other programs. Virgin Panther, virgin Entourage. Test: The
same problem occurs! So it simply can't be corrupted prefs or the like.

Further investigation yielded: The minutes are actually there, they are
simply not displayed! I can enter the minutes by typing or by clicking
the up and down arrows. If I do so in the start field, then the hour of
the end field changes appropriately. So the minutes are simply not
displayed.

What could this be? Help, please!

Check your default time format in the system prefs. Is that set up to
display minutes?

Well, yes. More exactly, I even didn't find a way to tell the system not
to display them.
