Open Access2000/2003 From Web Page

FrontPage 2000 is the FrontPage version I use. When I have a link to an
Access97 file, the message is displayed giving the user the option of either
opening or downloading. When linking to either Access 2000 or 2003, the file
is automatically downloaded to a temporary internet file. I know a solution
would be to use ASP but that is not an option for various reasons at this
time. Anyone have an answer to why 97 opens and 2000/2003 downloads and a
solution? Thanks! Jani

Depends on the users browser settings.
Zip it if you want it to always download.

Thank you Jens for responding to my question. What I prefer is that the
Access 2003 file open up instead of downloading. These Access files are
relatively small and plant people all over the US use them just to view
various reports. Is there a way to do this? If it involves the browser
settings, perhaps I can instruct them the changes that need to be made.
Thanks once again! Jani

Thanks, Jens, for responding to my question. However, I would prefer that the
Access files open up as they are relatively small in size. Associates use
them just to review/print reports only. Is there a way to change the browser
settings to do this? Perhaps I can include instructions on the web page for
this. Again, thanks for your help! Jani

You can tell them to rightclick and choose download, then they can open
it from their harddrive or include steps to change their settings so it
will open in Access.
