Open Dialog Box in Office 03 it hangs for 60 sec

When you try to use the Open Dialog Box in Office XP or 2003 the Look In
pulldown will hang for 60 sec before it will open. It will also give a Not
Responding message if you click on it before the 60 sec time out. There has
to be a setting the can stop this time out. I am using a new Dell Machine
with 1gig memory.

The amount of memory on your machine is probably irrelevant.
See if you have any disconnected or unavailable
ftp locations or network drives in your list. If so, Office
is waiting for Windows to tell it that it's done waiting for
them to come active.
