Im designing a Registration database for a conference. I have a Main form
that opens and asks for the Password and an email address. Possible
Registrants have been given a password, obviously, to access the DB. If they
have previous registered for a conference their previous registration
information appears in the registration form based on the supplied email
address. Working fine No problem.

However, here's the question, if they've never registered before the form
opens on a new record. What I want to happen is the email they have entered
to be automatically entered into the email field. Currently the form is
opening with all fields completely blank, which would force the Registrant to
re-Enter their email address, and I'd like to skip that step.

Currently using the following code:

stDocName = "frmRegistration"

stLinkCriteria = "[regEmail]=" & "'" & Me![regEmail] & "'"
DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , stLinkCriteria

As always, any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanx!

Set the default value of the e-mail field in frmRegistration to the value of
the e-mail field in your dialog box. This should cause their e-mail to be
pre-entered when it opens a new record form, but will not change anything in
an existing record.

Hope this helps.

Sometimes I think we overthink something and the solution is alot simpler
than we expected it to be. Thanx for seeing it for me!
