Open my default template when right click, select New MS Word doc within a folder

I often write what amount to Read Me files within folders.

I created a default template (dotx). It opens when I click a desktop shortcut.

However, when I'm inside a folder, and I right click and select New>Microsoft Word Document, the document that opens is not my default -- it's Word's default with overly wide margins and the "wrong" font.

How do I force Word to open MY template from the right-click New menu?
