Opening a new slide show and closing the first slide show at the same time

I often times work with groups of presenters and presentations. At the end
of one slide show, I can put in a button that will launch the second slide
show. What I also want to happen is for the first slide show to close so it
does not remain in memory. I have a strong processor and plenty of memory,
but after I get the third or fourth slide show open, with all the rest open
in memory, my computer is doggin it pretty badly. Does anyone have a
solution to this issue?
