opening a power point

when ever i open a power point pres. it always opens in
edit mode. How can i get them to open in slide show mode?

Rename the file extension form *.ppt to *.pps. This tells PowerPoint to
launch in playback mode.

Several ways:

Within PowerPoint, Click on Slide Show, View Show -or- hit
F5 or click on the click on the lower left Slide Show
button (if present).

If you want a presentation just to run automatically
everytime its opened, rename it to a PPS file instead of a
PPT file.

Change the file extension to ".PPS". Or you can open the .PPT file, click
"File", "Save as", then change the File type to "PowerPoint Show".

I tried changing the extention and to no avail. I email
the same file to another computer and it open ups in slide
show mode but not on mine
