Opening attachments keeps adding numbers

J

José Simán

When I open an attachment in Word or Excel, these programs keep on appending
a new number to the file name.
The first time I open the attachment there is a [1]
The second time, there is a [2]
And so on....

This is creating multiple copies of the attachment and thus consuming more
space on my Hard Drive.

Is there any way to stop this??

Best regards.

José,
When you open an attachment in Entourage 2004 without saving it, Entourage
makes a copy of it in the Saved Attachments folder in the Microsoft User
Data folder. If you open the same attachment (or another with the same name)
during the same Entourage session, Entourage will append a number to the
name.

Quitting Entourage will delete the attachments from the Saved Attachments
folder. So to get rid of them, just quit Entourage.
