opening explorer from e-mail

I currently use Outlook 98. when I receive e-mail from
vendors (Old Navy, Amazon) and click on their links in the
e-mail, a MS Explorer (ver 6.0) window opens but nothing
appears in the window or address line. can anyone help
fix this?
