Opening files from outside excel

I have an issue opening files from outside teh excel application. If i run
excel, go to file and open it will open the file however if i just double
clikc on files nothing happens,
i am running office xp (excel 2002) any fixes or ways aroun this issue would
be muhc appreciated.

Thanks I just found that earlier today and tried it seemed to resolve the
issue,
