Opening HTML with Entourage2004 & OS 10.4.1 Tiger

Lately, when opening an HTML message I get the spinning wheel and Entourage
becomes unresponsive. If Entourage is quit and restarted, it seems OK again
for a while. I think it has to do with turning on the pref for displaying
HTML in messages (from being off), then trying to open a message.

First it's sloowwwwsss way down, then hangs while opening another HTML
message. When the spinning wheel appears the Finder shows Entourage is
unresponsive.

Sound familiar? Text messages seem to open fine.
