Opening Multiple Sessions in Entourage

B

I have work accounts and home accounts and would like to be able to
have them both open at the same time so that I can copy messages from
one account to another. I sometimes get personal e-mails at my work
account and want to be able to copy them to the personal
database/account. Another reason I need to do this is so that I can
break my work account into multiple accounts (like Outlook .pst files).
I have had problems importing messages from my Outlook .pst files to
Entourage. I think it is because of the size of the files, but I am not
sure. When I import my Outlook files, it just quits when I get to a
certain point in the import. Opening multiple databases (like Outlook)
would resolve this issue.
Thanks for any help on this.

You can set up multiple accounts in one database by going to Tools >
Accounts, and clicking the "New" button. You can set up as many accounts as
you'd like. Each IMAP & Exchange account has its own icon in the Folder
List. All POP accounts direct into the main Inbox under "Folders on my
Computer". You can change this so that messages from the different POP
accounts are sorted into separate folders. Create folders under "Folders on
my Computer" for each of your accounts. Then go to Tools > Rules, click
"New", and create rules of this sort for each account:

* Execute actions if any criteria are met
IF Account is <Account 1>

There's no way to import PST files directly into Entourage. Check out Paul
Berkowitz's "Export-Import Entourage" script package. If you can access
your PST files in Outlook, this will help you export most data except mail
into a format that Entourage can import.

You can transfer mail using a program like Outlook2Mac

Unfortunately, even though it's possible to have multiple main windows for
one identity open (File > New > Open New Main Window), it's not possible to
have more than one identity & database open at one time. Going to File >
Switch Identity will close the current identity.
