Will Project Standard 2003 open .mpx files from Project 4 ?

carina,
No, but if you want them converted I can do it for you - that is if you
don't mind sending them to me via e-mail. I've done this multiple times
for posters on this newsgroup. My address is below.

Mike,
I had already read this; that's why I asked if 2003 could read .mpx files as
well as 2000.
We still have installations of Project 4 so it's not a problem to read the
files; would just be more convenient to only use one version.

Thanks John for the offer but we still have Project 4 installations so it's
not a problem to read the files using that; it would just have been more
convenient to only use one version if we purchase Project 2003..

carina,
OK. Despite what most people will say, Project 4.x still has a lot of
functionality. Newer versions do add more whistles and bells but in many
instances those aren't necessarily useful to a "casual" scheduler. What
having a later version does do however is bring compatibility with other
users outside of your immediate work group. If you have no need to share
files with outside organizations (e.g. customers, clients, other
businesses, etc.), then you shouldn't have any problem with the older
version although it might be hard to find support if you need it.
