opening publisher takes 10 seconds +

hi - publisher seems to take for ever to open - even blank pages take upto
10 secomds , and large files longer .

it just hangs there with the hour glass icon

other applications that i consider " resorces hogs " are opening as fast as
they ever did

so any ideas why publisher and publisher alone should have such a lag when
opened ??
