Opening web page

I have a database that has a field call Tax ID. Tax ID
is the property tax id (PROPID).
For example, 01180111090000 is a number that would be
located in the field.

I would like to have a button on the form that allows me
to click on it and open the following website and go
directly to that listing that the data refers to.

http://www.traviscad.org/travisdetail.php?
theKey=01180111090000

Therefore it would be
http://www.traviscad.org/travisdetail.php?theKey=(PROPID)

You can use Shell to do that. Try this sub...

Public Sub GoToURL(strWebSite As String)
strWebSite = "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\" _
& "IEXPLORE.EXE http://" & strWebSite
Shell strWebSite
End Sub

For your example would use...

GoToURL "www.traviscad.org/travisdetail.php?
theKey=01180111090000"

---<watch out for word wrap>---

You can do this from the immediate window.

For another browser you would need to modify the path part.

On the control of your choice do the below
On After update event write the code

Commandbutton.HyperlinkAddress =
"http://www.traviscad.org/travisdetail.php?theKey=" & Your control value

Now click on the command.


OR

Control.SetFocus
Commandbutton.SetFocus
Commandbutton.HyperlinkAddress =
""http://www.traviscad.org/travisdetail.php?theKey=" & Your control value
