Option forms and displaying a colour code in a view

I can get different colour markers displaying based on what has been
selected via a number of check boxes, but the problem is you can check all
boxes. I would like to use the option buttons and then based on the option
select display a different colour object in the view.

Is an issue register I have 4 levels of severity from 1 - Critical, 2-High,
3-Medium and 4-Low. I can get the option button to return a different value
for each option but when I go to the view how do I get the view to display a
different colour based on the option.?

You can use DHTML to change attributes of the form. For example, you can
change attributes of a field dependent on another field.
