option send to e-mail address (as attachment) unavailable

Wouter

How come the Word 2000 menu-option File > Send To > e-mail
adress (as attachment) is no longer available? Is this
because of a security update a user recently downloaded or
is something wrong with my Outlook/Exchange configuration?

TIA,
Wouter

Look under Tools Options and put a tick in the bo Mail as attachment, that
should give you the option on the file menu, thanks Tim

Thanks Tim, but I already tried that one, and its not the

Genine, I already tried that one as well. The option "Mail
Recipient (As Attachment)" is then grey-ed out and thus
not available.
According to the user the option is no langer available
since we installed the 128 bits encryption pack for IE,
but I don't think it has anything to do with that. The
funny thing is, the user also complained since then about
a new confirmation before deleting textblocks, which
turned out te be an option "Navigationbuttons for
WordPerfect Users". It seems that someone or something
changed a few setting here and there, but I haven't got a
clue how to enable the "Send as Attachment" option.

It may not help, but check that WIN.INI in your Windows folder contains at
least

[Mail}
MAPIX=1

and preferably

[Mail]
MAPI=1
CMC=1
CMCDLLNAME=mapi.dll
CMCDLLNAME32=mapi32.dll
MAPIX=1
MAPIXVER=1.0.0.1
OLEMessaging=1

It should be there already, but its absence can cause problems with e-mail
access form Word

Graham,

Thanks to Genine's post I re-searched Google newsgroups
for info about "Mail recepient (as attachment)" in stead
of "e-mail adress (as attachment)" which was my faulty
translation of the Dutch Word option into English. Then I
found a post mentioning the same solution, and that worked.

Thanks anyway,
Wouter

Are you confirming that the suggestion I posted worked for you - albeit
found from another source? It is helpful for future reference to know what
works and your last response is a tad vague.:)

Graham,

Yes the suggestion you posted did the trick. The other
source suggested adding only the MAPIX=1 value, but
somehow that only worked for my as administrator. Adding
the full monty did the trick for ordinary users.

Thanks!

I have just the opposite problem as the one that started this thread. I have
the (as attachment) option but don't have the recipient option that does NOT
create an attachment. In other words, File>Send To does not have Mail
Recipient without word in parans.
