Option to use Word to edit e-mail msgs turns off by itself

In our institution, we have "Use Microsoft Word to edit e-
mail messages" checked off as an option in the Tools |
Options | Mail Format. However, periodically, this
option seems to get unchecked by itself.

Does anyone know what might be causing this to happen,
and how to prevent it from being changed?
