Ordering Tasks

D

Don Edmonds

Hi again!

Having such immediate success with a problem at my first ever attempt to use
a newsgroup - I am back with something I have wondered about for ages.

I make good use of "tasks".

It suits me to sort them by due date - newest on top.

But this means that I inevitably have quite a number of tasks at the top all
due on the same day.

It would be great if I was able to drag items to place them - so that at the
start of each day I can manually order the tasks for the day in the order I
wish to do them - is that possible?

If not - is it possible to do more than one sort - e.g. Sort first by date
due, THEN by project?

Also - in Office Notifications (which is a great idea - except for this...)
- which seems to order the tasks somewhat randomly - is it there any way to
change the order of items - so (e.g.) I can put the tasks in the order that
I want to do them.

Hi Don,

Unfortunately, at this time there is no way to sort tasks manually. You
could assign relevant priorities and sort by priority so that the highest
priority items appear first in the list, but that's about as far as it goes,
at the moment.

For what it is worth, I have often wanted to be able to manually order
tasks as well.

Don,

Although more cumbersome, you could create some categories that you use with
tasks such as "Level1", "Level2", etc. or some other scheme. You could then
sort by category after you adjusted the category of individual tasks as
needed. Priority is simpler but with categories you do get color coding and
to name what you are sorting on.

Hi Don,

There is no way to organize the Office Notifications application. Thanks for
the suggestions, I have passed them along.

Thanks,

For what it is worth, I have often wanted to be able to manually order

Me, too, among other things...

I'd also like to print out my address book and not have it span a
contact across two pages. A checkbox for "Break page at end of contact
infromation," or something like that.

I'd like to print out a weekly calendar and be able to break the week
at the month's end, so i don't have to choose what month to put a page
in that spans two months. "Break week at month's end."
