ORK and its function

If there is anybody who is using ORK (CIW, CMW, etc) as supplied via
downloads would be advised to also apply KB 835209 and recretae the MST, CMW
etc. It will save you a lot of grief trying to find out why things are
failing.
Added to that, applying Office SP2 would help, but am not clear why, MS is
advising that for deployment.

Hi Amin,

Sorry, but not really following what you're looking for in this case.

Updating an Office Admin Point for Office 2003 and then recaching
the image to client PCs is one method for updating, but no longer
MS's first choice recommendation.

Can you provide more information on what you're looking to accomplish?
An MST file can only be applied to a new installation.

Bob,

I was trying to do 2 things using a MST (new implementations)
1. Add a file to a certain location (Outlook prf file)
2. Set Send Receive settings. (Outlook specific)

Both of the above did not work.

After running the mst, those changes were never there, until I applied the
patch.
After I applied the patch, I requested from MS, a 'list' of things which
were currently on the 'to be fixed' list for CIW/CMW so that we do not burn
cycles testing every function. That request was declined.

On reviewing the case, i was also advised that Office SP2 would 'help' me
make sure these above actions, and also any other settings would also apply.
That is what I do not understand.

After applying the patch, will the CMW portion (maintenance) work?. Guess I
will have to try it. The reason for this patch info application is to make
users aware, that without the patch, some of the items might not work as
described.
If u require a case number for reference, please send me your email address.
