Out box still showing message that's been deleted

I've been trying to email a large file (scan) to someone. After an hour I gave up and deleted it - thinking I'd post on a disk. Trouble is when I restarted my computer the "out box" on Entourage is still showing that there's a message in there (though its been deleted). Also a message inviting me to rebuild my Office database came up - which I did (I assume something happened to the Entourage database when i was trying to send the file). Even after rebuilding its still telling me that it needs rebuilding ... and the "ghostly" out box message is still there.

Any thoughts?

Can you delete it on the server via a web interface?
