Entourage 2008 now includes Out of Office.

Previous versions of Office:

Microsoft Entourage does not provide an "Out of Office Assistant" for
setting an automatic response to messages you receive while you are out of
the office; however, it is possible to set up such an automatic response in
one of three ways.

Use Outlook Web Access
Configure a rule in Microsoft Entourage
Use a third party application

Diane - thank you for your very quick reply. I have Entourage 2008. However I must be being very stupid as I cannot find the out of Office. If I key it into help, I get no response. Please can you let me know how to find it! Sorry!!!!!!!

Select your Exchange account in the folder list. Now under Tools in the Menu
bar, select Out of Office.

It's missing in Help. Off to report it....then I'm off to bed. 2AM Pacific
time now.

Ah - now I think I understand my difficulty. I have a .mac email account and not an Exchange account. I think that I therefore have to use the automatic reply feature within my .mac account (accessed over the Internet) rather than using some facility within Entourage. Perhaps you could confirm this, Diane. But not now; I am sure that you need your sleep and, although it's 10.30am here in Oxford, I am very happy to wait until you wake up!!!!!!!!!

Hi William,

you are right: the OOF assistant only works with Exchange accounts. The best
solution for you would be to access a similar feature in .Mac's preferences.
