outgoing rule can't mark as read (outlook 2003)

I have several rules to move copies of messages I send to certain
individuals into a folder. I didn't see a way to use the "mark as read"
action on an outgoing rule. If I don't manually mark the copies as read,
the folder shows unread items, so it appears I have new incoming mail, but
it's just due to the unread outgoing mail.

Any ideas about how to accomplish this?
