I have recently upgraded to Excel 2003 and I tried to
apply an outline to a spreadsheet. This is a task that I
have done before, but not for some time.
I have a spreadsheet that has subtotals under the
detailed data throughout the sheet. When I click into the
sheet go to Data, Group and Outline, Autooutline, the
sheet flick but I do not see the +/- signs on the left
hand side. The only way to compress/hide the detail is to
go to the data menu, group and outline again and select
hide detail.
The help menu displays the view that I want so I must
have missed something in the set up.
