outlook 2000 bug? and work around?

when i do a find for all unread items in the deleted folder only, the find
picks up all unread items in all the folders,
is this a bug? and is there any work around, other than searching the found
list for messages that did not come from the deleted folder

this is a problem because of dealing with spam. i have the spambayes from
sourceforge which does a great job of finding
spam but to get rid of it permanently, i have to move it first to the
deleted folder, then permanently delete it from there, the
easiest way i have found so far is select all the unopened and delete the
group

OT, but Spambayes on my OL2002 created two folders - Junk Mail and Junk
Suspects, and populates them automatically. I just go in and select the junk
I want to get rid of, then hit shift | del to delete and bypass the deleted
items folder entirely. Don't use the preview pane in either of these
folders....

Why not just empty the deleted items? It's all trash anyway, right? :)

How did you create the find? Did you select just the deleted folder? Also -
did you try sorting by the read icon column? You can select the top one and
use the page down button to quickly move down as you hold shift until you
get to the read messages - then use the up arrow to unselect the read
messages.
