Outlook 2000 email error

I recently ran spyware detection software, and now receive an error message on boot that states that "there is no mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
How can I re-establish the origunal settings and get rid of that pesky message
