Outlook 2000: Messages stuck in Outbox and not transferred to Sent folder

In Outlook 2000, I send a message. The recipient receives
the message without incident, but the message remains in
the Outbox and a copy is NOT sent to the 'Sent' folder.

The following 2 articles do NOT fix the problem. Any help
is appreciated.
