Outlook 2000 Notification

KB article 181580 says for OL 98 the arriving e-mail
notification is on a 5-minute cycle. The first message
arriving at the beginning of a cycle will be announced.
Subsequent arrivals during the cycle will not trigger the
notification. The notification will execute only once
during the 5-minute cycle. Is this true for OL 2000?

Yes, and for later versions. The NewMail event only fires at
intervals.
