Outlook 2000 occasionally locks up for a minute.

I have an Outlook 2000 install on XP Pro. All updates (os and office) have
been installed. At random intervals, outlook locks up for up to a minute.
When I check the task manager, there are 2 instances of "Microsoft Outlook",
and neither are responding. After the minute, the 2nd instance disappears
and everything returns back to normal.

Auto archive and auto-send/receive have been turned off. Any ideas?
