Outlook 2000

One of our user has a problem with outlook 2000. when
selecting or opening an email from from the inbox the
message automatically gets deleted. There are no rules
that are set causing this issue. The deleted emails are
not in the deleted items folder. Anything else I should
check?

Most likely, the messages aren't being deleted. The probably issue is that
the user has selected "Unread Messages" as his or her view or s/he has
clicked a column other than the "Received" column for sorting the messages.
Check that the View is set to "Messages" and that the mesages are sorted by
the "Received" column.
