Outlook:2001 to Entourage:Mac 2001

Hi All

Just before I give up and trash Entourage:Mac 2001 and go back/stay with
Outlook:2001 can anyone suggest or confirm that there is no Export/Import of
OL2001 to Ent2001 that I can do.

I know Ent2004 has (probably) got this (Importing of Personal Folders)
feature but I don't have it and don't want to buy it as I am happy with the
Office suite I have and I don't thnk you can just get Ent 2004 on it's own -
right?

Regards

Paul

You can get my Export-Import Entourage 2001 scripts (shareware) at

MacScripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>

Mail should just be transferred using your Exchange server as IMAP in
Entourage (as you've probably been doing). Details are in the ReadMe.
Contacts _can_ be transferred directly using the Contacts scripts. (If you
try doing it without the scripts, things will go wrong.) For calendar,
tasks, and notes, you need to borrow someone's PC as intermediary for 30
minutes. Precise steps are in the ReadMe's Outlook section. If you're doing
that, you should also do contacts the same way to get more fields.

If you are on Exchange, as you must be, Entourage 2004 works directly with
Exchange. It is still not as smooth as using Outlook 2001 but lets you do
everything in OS X. It also has lots of new features, as do Word, Excel and
PowerPoint, You cannot get Entourage 2004 on its own, correct. If you're in
OS 10.2 or 10.3, you should really consider upgrading. If you're happy
working in Classic forever with Office 2001, you can go on like that, I
guess, and with Outlook 2001.
