Outlook 2002 attachments

I have noticed that when i get an email, sometimes my
attachments show up in the body of the email and
sometimes they show up under the subject field as icons..

My question is why does it vary and is there anything i
can do to change it?

It depends on the format your senders send their email in: if Rich text
Format the attachment is in the body of the message, if HTML or Plain
text it's an icon under the subject, and I'm not sure you can do
anything about it unless you set Outlook to read all messages in Plain Text.
