Outlook 2002 - Messages & Folders Missing

C

Chris Sperring

Having run Outlook 2002 with no problems for around 18 months, this morning
I find that all my messages and folders have disappeared for no apparent
reason. I've run the Office detect and repair utility, but no success.

I'd be extremely grateful of any advice to resolve this problem.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Search your harddisk for *.pst. Make sure you include hidden files and
folders. Then in Outlook connect to it by File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

Tips of the month:
-What do the Outlook Icons Mean?
-Create an Office 2003 CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 1

Rob,

I can find the file, but opening as suggested doesn't appear to solve the
problem.

Is there anything else I should be doing?

How many pst-files did you find? If these pst-files do not contain the data
you were looking for the data is gone.

Rob,

I have an Office Data File , 39,520 kb, in my local settings\application
data\microsoft\outlook folder. There is also a 48kb archive folder. I'm
assuming the larger file is the one I need.

Rob,

I've just sorted it, somehow the view settings had changed. Thanks for your
help.

Alright, good to hear you've got it solved! :)

(I do wonder how a View made you unable to see the folders though...)
