We have a native mode Win2K domain w/ Exchange 2000. Some
new client PCs running WinXP/Outlook 2K2 exhibit the
following display issues:
- When the user is in the Inbox and sends an e-mail, the
Outbox displays "(1)" indicating a new item until the user
clicks another folder (Contacts, Calendar, Outbox, etc.).
We have tested and confirmed that, in fact, the e-mail is
immediately handled by Exchange despite the display
indicating otherwise.
- When the user is in a folder other than the Inbox, new
messages are not indicated next to the Inbox folder icon
until the user actually clicks on the folder. Neither the
new message pop-up nor the new mail tray icons fires.
This behavior does not occur on Win98 clients or WinXP
clients w/ Outlook 2000. This behavior does not occur on
an identical PC configured and joined to the network on
the same day w/ WinXP & Outlook 2002.
Thanks for any suggestions.
