I tried both suggestions and they were a no go. No
change. I still have to put in a password everytime I
start Outlook 2002.
Thanks anyway.
Anymore suggestions?

Hi Rev.

Re: Anymore suggestions?

Not that I say to a Reverend <vbg>

It's an annoyance and I've tried all suggestions put by the Outlook
experts.

When did the problem start? I'm suspecting a recent Windows update
might have caused it on my computer.
What Operating System do you have? It might only affect some systems.
With automatic checking set at (say) every 5 minutes, does it request
the password each time?

I can't think of any reason why it might start "out of the blue." I'm
as certain as possible that it is not virus / worm caused.

I am running XP Pro as an op system. If an update caused
it it happened automatically. I've changed that. I only
check mail every 1 1/2 hours.

I am asked for the password only when I open Outlook the
first time. After that I just take it down but don't
close it.

Thanks for the help.
