outlook 2003 and NAS

I have installed Norton Anti Spam (NAS) 2004 and I use
pop3 when I press send and receive button if I have more
then one email outlook will hang at around 60% receiving.
I have updated all patches for windows XP and office
2003. This was Symantec solution to update all patches. I
have uninstalled NAS and installed another anti spam
software called Inbox100 and the same thing happens. Any
idea anybody
