Outlook 2003 Distribution List Exceeds Maximum Size

I am attempting to create an extensive distribution list
in Outlook 2003. However, at a certain point I am
getting the following error message: This distribution
list has reached the maximum size for your network e-mail
server. No new members could be added.

I am on an Exchange server. I could find no
documentation regarding maximum size for distribution
lists.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
