Outlook 2003 Ignores Line Breaks Reading Plain Text Messages...

I recently upgraded my system and now use Outlook 2003.

Unfortunately plain text messages I receive now have all line breaks
removed.

The problem is not related to the "remove extra line breaks" feature -
it will happen no matter what that setting is...

Why is this happening and what can I do to fix it.
