Outlook 2003 Not recognizing PST FIle

R

Russ Pittman

Outlook 2003 running on XP Pro
Copied *.pst file from home machine.
Took the CD to work (Outlook 2003 w/Msexchange server) to
load emails and contacts. Outlook does not recognize the
file as a valid *.pst file.

When accessing the file, the alert is as follows:
c:\Documents and Settings\XxxxXxxx\Outlook.pst is not a
personal folders file.

Anyone have any constructive suggestions?

Best regards,

R

First thing I checked.
I have actually gone to the trouble of checking versions
to make sure I am compatible.
Anything else to suggest?

Try it on a different machine and if it doesn't work there, most
likely the file failed to write or transfer properly.

Got it!
It is very picky about retrieving *.pst files.
I had to name them backup.pst and contactsbackup.pst then
restor them using the import wizard. Nothing else worked,
away it went!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Best regards,

R
